Sunken Links is a collaborative exhibition by Alexandra Khomenko and Eror Toy, curated by Oxana Sitchuk. Structured in personal recollection, the work draws on idioms and visual cues that surface in Khomenko’s memory when surrounded by family. With only the frame of Australian culture through which to interpret these fragments, the collaboration brings them into the present, reflecting on how individual and collective memory are shaped by context and displacement.
The centrepiece, a reconstructed lift cabin scrawled with figures, slogans and posters, echoes the energy of political youth movements, reanimating private memory within a charged public form.
